About Me

I am an OG fan girl. I loved many different fandoms before they were considered cool or mainstream. I'm a mom, a nerd, and a vlogger. I run my YouTube channel for a few years now, but only in the last three. Have I really gotten to have a lot of fun with it.

Fandoms = Freedom

Many people misunderstand The reason that a lot of us are drawn into fandoms in such a deep way. It isn't because we don't want to feel rooted in reality. It's because these things give us the freedom to accept parts of ourselves and our reality and indulge are deepest dreams in the process.
Life is full of hard moments, tough decisions, and dark times. If we allow ourselves we can get lost in these things. The ability to dream is important.
As little girl absolutely loved all things Disney. And I would dress in outfits that represented the characters I liked best, this was before it had a name aka bounding, and I often had people who didn't understand this. I felt a connection with these characters and rather than trying to be that character, I was indulging the part of myself that was highlighted in that specific character or story.
Whether it's the ability to have high hopes that good things are coming despite the circumstances, or the ability to dream of a world where you're surrounded by people who love and support you, or even the ability to believe that there is something beyond what we can see in the here and now. These pieces of ourselves become highlighted.
This is sometimes an anchor, sometimes a ladder, and sometimes a shield. It can help us see past our depression, navigate negative circumstances, even deal with negative people in our lives.
It can be the strength of a superhero, the determination of a villain, the courage of a princess, or any fandom that you find yourself falling in Love with.
And whether you are into cosplay, going to Comic-Cons, Larping, or whatever your cup of tea is, it's nice to be able to allow that part of yourself out at times. And I have absolutely been thrilled to be able to allow those indulgences without guilt, shame, or bullying from those around me. This is why I choose the fandom life and why I've fallen in love with conventions that give me this opportunity. I've met many others that are amazing people. And I am so happy that I have. I hope that you two find something that brings you this kind of sense of belonging and happiness.

Back to Blogging

So I realized today, I haven't blogged in years and thought It was high time I get back to it 😅

I'm going to start from the top, like old friends getting acquainted. Or maybe like old acquaintances becoming friends. Either way, I'm Mombierella. You can call me Mombie, for short. (That's Mic up there ☝️ btw he's a 🎤)
A lot of interesting things have happened in the last few years. So let's do a little catching up. I've kind of become the con girl in my area. In 2019 I went to my first comic con, Houston's big convention Comicpalooza, and I absolutely fell in love with it! But then 2020 hit and everything shut down. Thank goodness, I live in Texas because we started up as soon as we could get back to doing fun things again here. And in 2021 Comic Conroe contacted me to be part of the first comic book convention in, you guessed it, Conroe Texas.
That's how I met Greg, CJ Peterson, and Aimee, who were all working with The Con Hour at that time, we'll get to them later.
Having only been to one but definitely interested. I accepted the invitation right away. And it was probably one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. In the past few years I've become a part of, and taken part in, multiple comic, anime, and horror conventions in the area. Have met some of the most amazing people, seen some outstanding cosplay, and not only witnessed but taken part in some of the most fun moments and memories that I'll treasure for the rest of my life.
So let me just end this by saying, know there will be more to come in details, I lived most my younger years as a misunderstood fan girl like many others, but I'm happy to find a place that I not only love being at but also feel like I can belong.
So if you find this blog interesting, check out my YouTube channel with all my vlogs, events like Comic Cons, Renfair  and other fun videos.
If you're a bookworm like me, you can also check out my story time channel
And until next time remember let it go and keep moving forward. Have a magical day💖
Bye
